Merry Christmas
Wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season!
To insure your holiday is without incident take a few extra precautions.
When Traveling, or shopping, make sure your purchases and other enticing item are kept in the trunk of your vehicle where they are not visible. Keep your purse and wallet with you and not in your vehicle.
Plus, if using cash keep some in your purse and or wallet and some in your pocket. This way if you lose the purse or wallet you haven’t lost all of it.
Safe Drivers
When it comes to safety, women are perceived as having a slight edge behind the wheel.
Only 39 percent of men believed they are safer drivers than their female counterparts, while
fully 35 percent of men were unsure. Women were much more definitive, with half (51
percent) indicating they were safer drivers than men.
Men, however, do have a competitive advantage when it comes to familiarity with safetyrelated
automotive technologies developed over the past 10 years. For example, they were
nearly three times (58 percent vs. 26 percent ) more likely than women to be familiar with
devices such as electronic stability control, which helps improve steering and prevent
accidents and is one of the most significant safety advancements in recent years.
Winter Storm Survival
New York had their turn now it is ours once again.
Winter Storm Survival
Here are several tips.
1. If you loss power and decide to use a generator make sure the generator is outside.
Generators give off dangerous carbon monoxide which can and will kill you in an unventilated area.
2. Do not light a fire in anything other than a fireplace or a wood burning stove even contained fires need an exhaust.
3. If you must drive keep a set of winter outdoor gear with you. Example snow suit, sub zero boots, a hat, scarf and gloves. Plus, Bottled Water, a flash light, cell phone and a shovel. It is also a good idea to always keep a flare stick in your vehicle, with some matches.
4. If you are in your vehicle and the bad weather has you stuck on the road, or off the road. Unless your vehicle has become unsafe, call for help and stay in your car. If you must leave your vehicle put all of your winter gear on and go to the nearest home, gas station etc.
5. Best advice, if you can stay home do so.

or if you become disabled? In many cases you will loss that life insurance.
The best price is today lock in it.
Warm weather ahead
So has everyone heard? Northwest Indiana is expecting temps up to 54 degrees on Friday.
That is great! What does that nice thaw mean to homeowners though? Here is what it means,
any pipes that may have frozen and cracked during the cold spell will now start to thaw and
leak. If you have vacant property, rental dwellings, or even your residence, make sure you
take a good look around to check for any signs of a leak. It doesn’t take long for an open
pipe to do some serious damage to your property.

Trees down from high winds and storms
When a tree falls and does damage to your home or other structures, there is usually some coverage on a standard home owners policy to cover that loss. If the tree or limb that falls is from your neighbors tree whose insurance do you call? A tree falling due to high winds or a storm is considered an act of god so your neighbor is not responsible for the claim. You would turn the claim into your own insurance.
To help avoid unnecessary losses from tree limbs, remove unhealthy branches and take down trees that are sick or diseased. Also, keep branches trimed so they do not rub against any buildings.
