Happy 4th of July 2010
South Shore Insurance wishes everyone a happy and save 4th of July. Our office will be closed July 5th for the Holiday.
Trees down from high winds and storms
When a tree falls and does damage to your home or other structures, there is usually some coverage on a standard home owners policy to cover that loss. If the tree or limb that falls is from your neighbors tree whose insurance do you call? A tree falling due to high winds or a storm is considered an act of god so your neighbor is not responsible for the claim. You would turn the claim into your own insurance.
To help avoid unnecessary losses from tree limbs, remove unhealthy branches and take down trees that are sick or diseased. Also, keep branches trimed so they do not rub against any buildings.
South Shore Insurance Sponsors Chesterton Christmas Float
On November 27, 2009, we participated in the Chesterton Annual Christmas Parade. With a Grinch Float, and 4 who’s, we passed out over 1000 pieces of candy to the many children and adults who came to watch the parade. What fun, and a great way to kick off the Christmas Holiday Season!
